How It Works

Simple, Broken Tool Detection every machine cycle

Working of Broken Tool Detection
The BK Mikro systems all utilize a servo motor and encoder which "Learn" the position of the tool or object that you want to check using a wand or probe. This position is then stored in memory and checked after every cycle to verify that the tool is still present within a certain window. If the wand or probe doesn't make it to the position or travels past the learned position the BK Mikro controller outputs a fault signaling that the tool is broken.

This fault is interfaced to your machines control which then stops the machine ensuring that the machine doesn't crash and also prevents bad parts from being manufactured. Each of the BK Mikro models have unique features and apply to various applications. To learn more about an individual model please select the unit that you would like to learn more about.
