All BK Mikro scanners utilize servo motors for accurate measurements and increased lifetime.

TK7A/TK7RL Scanner
TK7A / RL

The two scanner variations of the type TK7 have identical features. The only difference is that in variation “A” the rotational movement is limited by a mechanical stop inside the housing while the scanner “RL” can rotate in both directions without stopping. This is for checking two tools. These scanners are best suited for tight spaces where a larger scanner may not fit, such as Swiss style machines or multi-spindle heads. For initial setup of the unit, place the wand between the two tools that you wish to monitor.

TK8A Scanner
TK8A

BK Mikro TK8A is a scanner designed mainly for broken tool detection inside the tool changer of machining centers adding little or no additional cycle time. The controller stores up to 512 different tool lengths in memory and is controlled using 24vdc M-Code/Macro I/O combinations, Profibus or DeviceNet. The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 15 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.05 and 25.4 degrees.

TK91A

BK Mikro TK91A is a scanner designed mainly for broken tool detection inside the tool changer of machining centers adding little or no additional cycle time. The controller stores up to 512 different tool lengths in memory and is controlled using M-Code combinations, a custom Macro or Profibus. The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 22 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.05 and 25.4 degrees.

TK94A/RL Scanner
TK94A / RL

The two scanner variations of the type TK94 have similar features. The difference is that variation "A" is used for checking single positions or free space while the version "RL" rotates in both directions without stopping to check for two tools. These scanners are best suited for harsh environments and have a built-in air purge with a strong/fast motor. This scanner would be used in applications that previously used the BK Mikro model 4 or 5 scanners such as lathes,

TK9LIN50 Scanner
TK9LIN50

BK Mikro Linear is based on the existing design concepts for tool, object and free space monitoring and is modified to utilize a rack and pinion probe instead of a wand. This system monitors a specific distance or depth with longitudinal scanning. This is especially useful in cases where rotary scanning is inappropriate or impossible. Some examples would be cavities, blind or through holes and places where space is limited. It can also be used to verify a part is in place during assembly or that the proper part is on the machine by probing a specific feature.

TK96 Scanner
TK96

The TK96 series scanner is the most compact in the BK Mikro line and comes with a durable stainless steel bodywhich helps resist wear from chips and other flying debris. With a diameter of only 12mm it is ideal for tight spaces where other scanners may not fit such as in Swiss style machines or multi-spindle heads. Because of its small size it provides less area for chips and other debris to collect. Two scanner variations, “A” and “RL”, are available for either checking one or two tools.
